Blog reflections

Hello lovelies!

Turns out that you can get nostalgia and warm feelings in your tummy when looking back on old blog posts. I barely even scratched the surface of years of previous blog posts but I was just taking a look at my milestones page and dangggg I can’t believe how cringy I was. Not as bad as my old blog though, which, thank God, IS DELETED SO NOBODY EVEN MYSELF CAN LOOK BACK ON AND DIE OF LAUGHTER/HUMILIATION.

*cough*

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with this blog for so many different reasons. I enjoyed typing up posts but sometimes spent too much time on it (more than my study time back when I was homeschooling oops) I read a lot of posts and gained so much inspiration from bloggers but tried to copy some of them. And more recently, I questioned the purpose of my blog yet still refused to wipe its existence from this earth.

But here we are. Blog is alive. Is it well? Let’s just say it could be better. It needs a serious makeover though. Still working on that one. *nervous chuckle*

Even though I haven’t been appreciating my blog as much as I’d like to, I’m thankful for everything my blog has given me. I’ve met so many fantastic people on WordPress, honed my writing skills (so that I can call myself a writer without feeling like a hoax) and learned how to maintain an entire website (kinda) all by myself at such a young age. I still can’t wrap my mind around it sometimes.

Would you believe me if I told you that WP was the first ever real “social media” platform I was on? I guess that’s one of the reasons why I don’t have the heart to delete it. Kinda like when you’ve owned a doll for ages and it’s torn, smelly, and just generally pathetic-looking but you can’t bear to see it thrown away cause of all that you’ve been through with it.

This right here is the result and fruit of years of hard work, dedication, sweat, blood, tears, time, effort, and energy. Not just typing out posts, but putting myself out there so that people would visit my blog aka trying to drive traffic to my site. Not just designing the blog, but collaborating and working with all sorts of people whom I’ve never met in real life to create content. Not just replying to supportive comments but dealing with haters as well. I’m actually rather privileged that I didn’t receive any hate comments (except 1, I think, which I can still remember to this day). Either WP has the ability to filter through these kind of comments and delete them before they get to us or they end up in the overflowing spam box which I never check anymore. But that’s another story for another day.

I guess I must have been/be doing something right cause my blog has grown so much and it’s still growing despite me not being active!! Can I call myself a content creator then eheheheh. In all seriousness, I’m extremely grateful for every single opportunity I’ve had on here. More importantly though, I hope I’ve managed to make a positive impact on someone. That would be more worth it. Since I plan on revamping this baby soon, guess I’ll still be here for a while teehee~

That’s all for today folks. Just wanted to come on here and give my little bloggy an appreciation post. *pat pat*

How long have you been blogging for? What’s one thing you’re grateful for in the blogging world?

P.S. there’s now 650 of y’all! Thank you so much everyone 🥺💕

  1. I have been blogging for…*counts* almost 7 years! I’ve had to deal with a lot of insecurity about my blog lately and “why don’t I just delete it?” but ultimately, I keep it because I love it. I’d hate to lose it.

  2. Wow… looking back on your blogging history/journey can be so insightful! You get to see how much you’ve grown and improved. My blog is the first “social media” platform that I’m on as well!
You’re content is always so fun and relaxed, and I’m so thankful that you started this blog! And if you end up deciding to just post once every other week, or even once a month to every other month, you’ll still be a wonderful and beautiful content creator! I hope you have a great day, and God bless!
