I’m really excited to present today’s post to you because I had this sudden burst of inspiration last night to do it, coz my mind has been blank for days on what to do for my next post.
Today I shall be discussing the disadvantages of wearing glasses.
If you are a wearer of glasses (like me) you will understand the struggles we face.
First off, it gets in your way. Glasses makes a lot of things difficult to do. For instance, swimming, reading, and playing sports.
Yes I said reading. Because looking down for prolonged times can actually cause the glasses to slip down your nose. It really is annoying.
When you sweat, the glasses will also not stay in place because the sweat makes your whole face slippery, making the glasses slide down your nose and from behind your ears.
Secondly, it’s inconvenient. When you want to take a short nap, it would be sooooo much easier to just close your eyes and float away to dream land but NOT FOR GLASSES WEARING PEOPLE! We have to take off our glasses, put them somewhere that is safe and easy to reach once awake, and THEN we can go to sleep.
Thirdly, we have to handle the responsibility of keeping our glasses clean and safe. We have to make sure that
a) our lenses are not dirty so we can see clearly
b) we don’t break our glasses
Unfortunately for me, I already broke one of my glasses and the new one cost RM500 or $120. (yes I converted for you US citizens. How nice of me) And that is a LOT of cash.
Besides, did I mention keeping our lenses clean is NOT easy? Every time something splashes onto the lens we have to clean it off with…. our shirt. Yup that’s right. I have not seen anyone who wears glasses to bring their spectacle cloth around so the most convenient thing on hand is your clothes.
You might think, “Hey that’s pretty easy!” After all, you’re always wearing something, right? WRONG! Well yeah, it’s true that it’s easy but sometimes when you try to wipe some smudge off, you just make it worse coz you will smear that little speck of grime across your whole lens.
Because of all these reasons, I changed to contact lenses. Maybe I’ll do a post on that someday. MAYBE.
Goodbye for now! 😀
Do you wear glasses too? Any more points to add on?
