Hello there!

We’ve arrived at the end of the first week of 2018! Woohoo!

Let’s dive into the post ๐Ÿ™‚

Superstitions. They’re everywhere. Want to see some of them listed? Read on.

1. Beginner’s Luck

Experienced people might say this about newbies. But what if the beginner is actually good at what he/she is doing?

2. Black Cats

Deemed unlucky. Hey, I like black cats.

3. Crossing Your Fingers

“Fingers crossed.” That saying is somewhat wishing for good luck.

4. Friday the 13th

Friday is supposedly an “unlucky” day, and 13 has always been considered an unlucky number. Most of my activities take place on Fridays. Friday is the end of the week. Just sayin’ that Friday ain’t all that bad.

5. Four Leaf Clover

If you find a 4 leaf clover, it means it will bring you luck.

6. Wishing on a (Shooting) Star

People think that wishing on a (shooting) star will make your wish come true.

7. Fortune Cookies

When you read the “fortune” inside the cookie, it will be real.

There are more, but I don’t want to list them all here. You can view more here.

As you can probably already tell, I don’t believe in any superstitions. You may call me weird, but it’s because I believe that luck doesn’t exist. Blessing from God does.

If I want something to happen, I just pray. I don’t need to cross my fingers or wish upon a star. I’ve seen black cats loads of times and things weren’t bad.

This is purely my opinion ๐Ÿ™‚

How did the first week of this year go for you? Do you believe in superstitions?

  2. i have a friend who’s entire family l o v e s the steelers. they are STRONG on their superstitions XD
when their son ethan was younger, they always started losing when he was upstairs so they made him watch the game alone in the basement. also, they always start winning when their son’s girlfriend is over. it’s weird but it’s funny how into it they are.

i honestly don’t believe in superstitions but i still do things like cross my fingers at times XD when my college is on third down and close to the first down line, i always cross my fingers and hold them in the air and they’ve never not gotten a first down.

but i agree with you ๐Ÿ™‚ God’s blessings exist, and they trump any dumb superstitions.

    great post! xx

  3. Good job! I totally agree!!!! I do not believe in superstitions. My grandma was raised in a family who did, and she doesn’t…but she has some SCARY stories and…coincidences that happened. I obviously still don’t believe them, but she said that once her dad saw three black cats on the road, and within the next week, her grandpa, great grandpa, and dog all died. So I think Satan can sometimes use superstitions to scare people to death and get them to believe things. I only share this story because I think it’s interesting, not because I believe in superstitions! I totally believe that God is WAY stronger than any of that and any bit of “luck”. He is AN AWESOME GOD!

  4. Well, that is scary! Yes, Satan will use all sorts of methods to scare us or cause us to lose our faith in God. Which is why we should never give up! YES HE IS! Thank you so much for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚
